Information - Thompsons Folic Acid Tablets
Folic acid is a B vitamin. It helps the body make healthy new cells. It carries out a variety of functions in the human body from assisting in the formation of nucleic acid, essential for growth and reproduction, to stimulating the production of hydrochloric acid in the stomach. So folic acid supplementation is important both prior to and during the first trimester of pregnancy to reduce the risk of neural tube defects. People with folic acid deficiency symptoms, such as diarrhoea, gingivitis, depression, insomnia, irritability, forgetfulness, loss of appetite, fatigue and shortness of breath, should benefit from folic acid supplementation. Folic acid supplementation may also be useful in the prevention and treatment of macrocytic anaemia.
Use
Take one tablet a day with food or as professionally prescribed.
