Nizoral is a shampoo that contains a broad-spectrum antifungal, which inhibits the growth of yeast and other fungal infections providing relief from dandruff. Nizoral shampoo is available in two stengths: 1% and 2% Ketoconazole and is often prescribed for the treatment of fungal infections of the scalp and sebbhoreic dermatitis, however as it has anti androgenic properties it is used by some individuals in combination with other treatments in the treatment of androgenetic alopecia.
Nizoral is medically proven to be effective against P. ovale, the organism, which most skin specialists agree, is the cause of dandruff. Use
Shampoo twice weekly 2 - 4 weeks.
