Hydroxocobalamin

Update 26/2/2010:  The Neo-B12 packaging of this product is no longer available.  It has been replaced by an identical product called 'Hydroxocobalamin'. As per Neo-B12, each packet of Hydroxocobalamin contains 3 * 1000 mcg/ml ampuoles.

Hydroxocobalamin is used for the prevention and treatment of anaemias associated with vitamin B₁₂ deficiency. It is also used to treat diseases of nerves in the eyes. Hydroxocobalamin Injection is a form of vitamin B₁₂.

Your doctor will determine what dose you should receive. This depends on your condition and other factors such as your weight.

1 mg/mL (1000mcg/ml) of Hydroxocobalamin chloride as the active ingredient.

It also contains:

• Sodium Chloride
• Glacial acetic Acid
• Water for injections

This medicine does not contain lactose, sucrose, gluten, tartrazine or any other azo dyes.

DO NOT USE INTRAVENOUSLY. Use should be under the guidance of your doctor. Hydroxocobalamin is distributed into breast milk. Therefore it is not recommended for breastfeeding mothers unless the expected benefits to the mother outweigh any potential risk to the infant.
