Information - Itch-Soothe Cream
Itch-Soothe Cream is used to treat various forms of pruritus (itching) including itching asociated with allergies, chicken pox (where the skin is unbroken) and itchiness due to insect bites and stings. By relieving itching, Itch-Soothe prevents irritation and breaking of the skin caused by scratching and therefore reduces the risk of secondary infection. Itch-Soothe may also be used for the treatment of scabies.
Use
For Pruritus ADULTS Apply to affected area 2-3 x daily until itching has subsided. Itch-Soothe will provide relief for 6-10 hours after each application. If itching persists after 5 days treatment , consult your doctor or pharmacist.
For Scabies ADULTS Take a warm bath and dry the skin. Rub Itch-Soothe Cream into the entire body surface (excluding the face and scalp) until no traces of the preparation remain visible on the surface. Repeat this application once daily, preferably in the evening, for a total of 3-5 days. Pay particular attention to sites that are susceptible to infestation by the mites (eg. the areas between the fingers and toes, wrists, the armpits and genitals). Areas where there is pus formation, should be covered with a dressing impregnated with Itch-Soothe. While the treatment is in progress, you may take a bath before the next application. After completion of the treatment, a cleansing bath should be taken followed by a change of bed linen and clothing.
CHILDREN Apply as described for adults but in children under 3 years of age, Itch-Soothe Cream should only be applied once daily.
Ingredients
Active Ingredient: Crotamiton 10%(100mg/g. Also contains propyl paraben methyl paraben, glycerine, celearyl alcohol and PEG-20 stearate,acrylic acidpolymer, triethanolamine and water.
Important notes
Applied topically, Itch-Soothe occasionally causes irritation. If skin irritation or allergy occurs, stop using Itch-Soothe.
