Information - Clinicians HRT Support
Clinicians HRT Support is indicated as nutrient replacement for individuals taking hormone replacement therapy. Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is used for the treatment of symptoms experienced during menopause, lack of vaginal mucous or urethra irritation, and the prevention and management of osteoporosis. It is also used for conditions such as loss of ovary function or uterine bleeding due to hormonal imbalance. Long-term use of HRT medication may have an effect on the nutritional status of the body. Certain essential nutrients are known to be depleted by this group of medications. Common side effects of these medications include nausea, vomiting, bloating, breast changes [tenderness and enlargement], a change in frequency and flow of menses, migraine, mood swings, fluid retention and increased susceptibility to candida infection. More serious side effects may include depression, hypertension, thromboembolism, glucose intolerance, cholestatic jaundice, increased triglycerides and LDL cholesterol.
