Alanase Aqueous 20ml Nasal Spray

Alanase is used for short term treatment and prevention of seasonal allergic rhinitis (nasal inflammation), including hayfever. It works by reducing swelling and inflammation in the nose. It can be used throughout the hayfever season to treat the common symptoms of hayfever such as sneezing and a runny, itchy or blocked-up nose. When your nose is cleared the presure and pain around your nose is also reduced.

Adults and Children over 12 years of age: The recommended dose is two sprays into each nostril twice daily. Once control has been established, it may be possible to maintain control with fewer sprays. A dosage regimen of one spray into each nostril morning and evening has been shown to be efficacious in some patients. However, should the symptoms recur, patients should revert to the recommended dosage of two sprays into each nostril morning and evening. Total daily administration should not normally exceed 400mcg. For full therapeutic benefit regular usage is essential as beconase controls the underlying disorders responsible for hayfever attacks. Alanase starts to work immediately, but may take 2-3 days to build up to its maximum protective effect. The minimum dose should be used at which effective control of symptoms is maintained.

Children under twelve years old: There is insufficient clinical data to recommend use.

Beclomethasone Dipropionate 50mcg per actuation.
Alanase 20 ml containing 200 doses.

Discard 90 days after opening. You should consult your doctor before using your spray if you;

• are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
• are breast feeding. Stop using for 2 days if nose bleeds occur.
• have had recent nasal surgery.
• have a tendency to nose bleeds.

Systemic side effects may occur if dose is exceeded over a prolonged period.
